The Challenge

But also! Out of necessity this GORGEOUS mural had been covered up with a shelving unit and supplies. Our goal was to help revive this beauty ASAP!
Our Approach
When we first stepped into the storeroom, we knew that a simple tidy-up wouldn’t suffice; this project required a strategic overhaul to create a lasting impact. Our goal was to not just organize the space but to design a system that would support the salon's operations seamlessly. We wanted to ensure that the storeroom was a reflection of the salon's sleek, modern aesthetic, while also being highly functional for day-to-day use.
We began by collaborating closely with the salon team to understand their specific needs. What products did they use most frequently? Which items were causing the most clutter? What challenges did they face daily in finding and accessing supplies? By answering these questions, we could tailor our organizational approach to fit their unique workflow.
The first step was decluttering. We meticulously sorted through every item in the storeroom, identifying what was essential and what could be discarded or relocated. Outdated products were removed, duplicate items were consolidated, and anything that no longer served a purpose was either donated or disposed of. This process alone freed up significant space and brought a sense of order to the chaos.
Next, we tackled the organization. We introduced clear, labeled bins and containers that allowed the team to see exactly what was inside each one without having to dig through piles of items. We also implemented a color-coded system to differentiate between various categories of supplies, such as hair products, cleaning supplies, and tools. Brooms & mops were were installed to utilize wall space and keep frequently used tools within easy reach, while less frequently used items were stored higher up, maximizing every inch of space.
